Summary of the project
We received following beneficiaries for a practical
training in Wroc³aw (Poland) in the framework of the
European Leonardo da Vinci Programme II:
1. Iraia Campo Azpeitia
2. Eider Oyarbide Errazquin
3. Antxon Arsuaga Oria
4. Nekane Urroz Erasun
5. Aitor Zabala Echeverria
Beneficiaries arrived in the evening on 18th March 2005
at the Wroc³aw Airport. They were picked up by FUTURUM
Team and transported to their accommodation place –
students’ hostel of Medical Academy in the centre of the
city.
On the next day the group was taken for a guided tour
through the city of Wroc³aw. They visited the modern
centre as well as the old town, got to know the history
of the city and the most popular places there. The
guidance was done in Spanish.
During the first week beneficiaries attended an English
course, organized by Futurum and the language school El
Universo. The course contained following topics:
- jobs and places, routines, the city and the country.
- exchange programs twin cities
- living abroad, cultures and manners
- holidays, climate/weather, transport
- shops and shopping
- places to eat, food and drinks
- celebrations, festivals and events
- sports, accidents and injuries, illnesses
- entertainment, the arts, charity
- education, technology, science
After having completed the course they were introduced
by the
Fagor MasterCook SA – a company where they
continued their placements. They were placed in the
following departments:
1. Iraia Campo Azpeitia – Maintenance Service
2. Eider Oyarbide Errazquin – Management of Constructors

3. Antxon Arsuaga Oria – Maintenance Service
4. Nekane Urroz Erasun – Maintenance Service
5. Aitor Zabala Echeverria – Management of Constructors

Trainees, who were placed in Management of Constructors
Team, performed the training programme aimed at
codification of Brandt’s cookers and prototyping:
construction and realization of prototypes of some
different issues connected with the project. Their stage
included:
- studying and contact with cookers’ structures
- presentation of the product
- approach to the components and construction analysis
- designing of different mechanical pieces
- resolution of mechanical and other miscellaneous
problems linked with the Brandt project
- prototyping
- codification in the database and in the drawings of
products
The core aspect of training programme of Iraia and
Antxon, who worked in a Maintenance Service, was
refrigerators’ production. Their placement was divided
in a few sub-parts:
- learning on refrigerators production technology,
learning on the structure and principles of operation of
machines used in the production process
- updating the schemes of production plant – working
with AutoCad
- participation in works on production line
modernization
- elaboration of prevention plans for the machines
Additionally, they observed operations related to
machine failures elimination and took part in exercises
on PLC programming (Simatic S7).
During their free time beneficiaries organized trips to
different cities, like Krakow or Prague. They gained
information about the whole Poland and Middle-Eastern
Europe, its customs and tradition. They had also a
chance to take part in such extraordinary moments like
the anniversary of Poland’s EU accession or Easter. It
gave them the overview of Polish culture and believes.
On Friday, 9th
of June, the students were transported to the airport
and flew back to Basque Country. |
