Summary of the project

FUTURUM, host organization, received following beneficiaries for a practical training in Wrocław (Poland) in the framework of the European Leonardo da Vinci – Lifelong Learning Programme:

The group was accompanied by Sinam Selver, the accompanying teacher.

Beneficiaries arrived in the afternoon on 10th June 2009 at the airport in Wroclaw. Ula Stawowczyk from FUTURUM team picked them up. They checked in at their apartments.

On first day a group was taken for a guided tour through the city of Wrocław. They visited the modern centre as well as the old town, got to know the history of the city and the most popular places there.

During the first week they were introduced to practical training tutors companies. They were splitted into two groups: the group of food & beverages service (Fatma Ozturk, Serife Nermin Baltaci and Saban Oz) did their placement within the staff of A La Turka restaurant. Among their tasks were:

• breakfast table preparation;
• preparing starters;
• cooking main dishes;
• receiving orders and serving meals to customers;

The trainees of IT technologies performed their training within the staff of Centre of Vocational Learning in Wroclaw. Among their tasks were:

• Introduction to HTML programming
• Meta tags in HTML
• Unicode
• Microsoft Frontpage usage for:
• Text edition
  o Hyperlinks creation
  o Lists and tables
  o Frames
  o Pictures, backgrounds and colours

All students accumulated a lot of new skills connected with their interests and obtained a practical knowledge closely related with their education.

On Wednesday, 8th July the students were taken to the airport and travelled back to Turkey.
